Can't Install Ubuntu 11.10 On My Macbook Pro?
I purchase brand new macbook pro in the summer of '11 and i 'm trying to install ubuntu 11.10 on it. i downloaded the 64-bit version and the mac said "no mountable file system " and it would not burn. i downloaded it on a windows computer and it burned fine but when i tried to boot from cd it takes a while then says "no mountable file system " this is only for ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 i tried the same thing with the 32-bit and the same thing happens. also, if i boot from an earlier version like 10.04 or 10.10 it boots perfectly fine and leads me to install.does anyone know why this is occuring and how it can be fixed? i did some research and some said that 11.10 worked beautifully on a mac right out the box. I Dropped My Macbook Pro What Should I Look For, For Internal Damage?
I just dropped my macbook pro from about a foot off the ground and there is no damage visible on the outside. i was wondering what i should do to make sure that there is no internal damage like a broken disk drive, or nothing on the motherboard is loose, for the long term of things. is there any way of finding this out, any programs or such? thanks (Read answers)

Macbook Pro Issues?!!!?
I have a macbook pro that has been stuck on the apple logo with the spinning wheel. this has happened to me once and we just switched the hard drive and it worked. now i have tried to fix this issue and i have tried many things. i used disk utility to try to repair to the disk and the bar just stood there. i ejected the disk and i now start it up and a folder with a question mark in the middle comes up. how do i fix this and what do i have to repair? please reply asap!!!ok i can reinstall which is what i try to do. i get a disk0s2 on the left side on disk utility which before was macintosh hd. i restart i get the question mark with a folder and then i put the cd back in. i go back to disk utility and try to repair the partition i made which was macintosh i click repair the bar doesn 't go anywhere and it says not mounted! Macbook Randomly Shut Down?
Ive had my macbook since christmas of 2010 and me and my friend were just skyping. my macbook was on about 1:24 of battery left and i didnt hit any buttons and it asked me if i wanted to restart, sleep, shut down, or cancel. i clicked cancel and kept talking and then about 30 seconds later the screen went black and i put it on the charger and hit the on button and took the charger off and nothing.. ive had it for quite a while and never has this happened. however, earlier about 2 hours ago i was drinking sleepytime tea for my insomnia and i spilt a little on the side of the on button near the arrow keys. any suggestions of getting it back on without a trip to the apple store?
